ABOUT US

The Christian Church

The Christian Church/Church of Christ was born out of an American frontier revival (1790-1840) often referred to as "The Restoration Movement." The pioneers of this movement were seeking to reform the Church from within and sought the unification of all Christians into a single body patterned after the Church of the New Testament. The hallmarks of this movement are still integral to who we are. Our church is Bible focused and elder led. We are considered non-denominational which reflects a desire to avoid Kingdom division and to promote unity among believers. We teach Christ is the only way to salvation, the Bible is our ultimate guide, and the Spirit of God is our Counselor and indwelling Presence guaranteeing our inheritance in Christ. The Lord's Supper (weekly communion), baptism by immersion, worship, and prayer are still taught and practiced in our church.
